Sarah Booker Lewis
Sarah is an experienced newspaper journalist, sub-editor, web editor, copy editor, blogger and social media manager. Her recent work includes blogging for Brighton Journalist Works and Officréche; social media management and PR for SEWMANCE Festival and Brighton Sewing Bee; as well as SEO and improved readability for Sew Retro.
Since 2008 she has taught social media skills, web analytics and basic SEO to student journalists. Her training skills include teaching mobile video, media law and Teeline shorthand.
She was web editor at Brighton’s daily newspaper The Argus for two years and web and production editor for the Worthing Herald series for five years. Her career includes working as a writer/sub-editor for Trinity Mirror South’s features unit for London and the Home Counties, and as a news reporter in Buckinghamshire. Sarah offers PR, copy writing, sub-editing, copy editing, blogs and social media management.
"Sarah was fanatical about expanding the Worthing Herald presence in the social media sphere to levels far in excess of what could reasonably have been expected of a paper of our size. She was a passionate champion of digital opportunities and relentlessly dedicated to the growth and success of the company website. She has an encyclopedic knowledge of the digital world and unparallelled insight into trends and future opportunities,"
Chris Taylor, Worthing Herald
"Sarah's help with SEWMANCE has been just amazing. I didn't have to worry about anything on the day. Instagram pictures and videos just appeared, covering everything from stall holders to taster workshops. She is such a safe pair of hands. Beforehand it felt like she whipped up a press release from thin air after a chat over coffee. She also finessed my answers to Sew Now's questions making them perfect. I didn't want to set up Twitter but she took command and created something out of nothing. I think we have a long future working together. Sarah is a professional, friendly social media wiz and she is invaluable in my small business,"
Stacie Madden, founder SEWMANCE
"Sarah revamped our social media strategy, using her initiative to reach out to wider audiences. She wrote blogs that netted new followers and encouraged them to share the information annually. Her use of different platforms kept our community engaged and growing. A swift brain, logical scheduling and an admirable work ethic."
